You can continue to use your old Credit-Aid Pro software for as long as you like, and see below for steps to reinstall, but understand that Credit-Aid Pro Software is no longer sold. Your old version will be very outdated.

Re-downloading your old Credit-Aid Pro Software:

Years ago, when you purchased Credit-Aid Pro software, the download letter explained that versions change, eventually become discontinued and that we cannot resend old software orders years later. That letter urged you to save your setup file (what you downloaded) and also also urged you to make a backup CD -- to use if you ever needed to install again in the future. That setup file was your product. Hopefully you purchased a CD, made your own or saved the setup file that you downloaded. That is the only way to reinstall your software. If you have that file or your old CD, click here for steps to reinstall.

Switching between Windows and Mac

If you purchased software for WIndows years ago it will only run on Windows. If you purchased software for Mac, it will only ruin on Mac. Neither will run on a tablet or phone. It's old software and old technology. For multiple devices we recommend Credit Repair Cloud. It runs on Windows, Mac or any computer, tablet or smartphone. It's especially awesome on an iPad. Please read before re-installing your old Credit-Aid Pro Software:

The first thing you need is your original setup file. You downloaded it on your day of purchase. It will also be on your CD (if you purchased one) or the backup CD that you download letter urged you to make. You cannot reinstall without this file. It's called "credit-aid_pro_setup.exe."
If you have an existing and working installation of Credit-Aid Pro Software (Versions 8 or 9), export your client data first. Follow the instructions in the User's Guide (a link is on the home page of the software). Export your client backup zip from the export button in the software. Save that zip file in a save place. Then import that client zip into the new installation of the software. The client backup tool is the only way to export and import your client data from one installation to another. If you try to reinstall and you do nopt have a client backup zip, your new install will be clean (with all new client slots) like the day you purchased the software.
Understand that software cannot be "copied" or "moved." It must always be "installed clean" from the original setup file or CD with no pre-existing data from the same program. If you've made a copy of your hard drive witha previous installation of Credit-Aid Pro, that will not be useful. Software must be "installed" into the windows registry. It cannot be copied or moved. No exceptions. It will not work. You can only run credit-aid pro software if you've done a clean install from the original setup file.
Find your setup file. It's the only way to install software. The setup file is called It's called "credit-aid_pro_setup.exe." You cannot reinstall any version of Credit-Aid Pro Software without this setup file that you received on your day of purchase.

Steps to re-install your old Credit-Aid Pro Software:

Running the setup file for a "clean install" is the only way to install software. After that, do not move or copy that program folder. Otherwise it's like taking the engine out of a car. It will not work. Please don't try. It will only make a mess, the software will not be usable and you will see strange erors.

Credit-Aid Pro needs a "clean-Install." If you are reinstalling to the same computer as before, you must delete the installation folder that may be left over from before. The old data cannot be there. You cannot keep old data. The uninstaller usually deletes this for you, but everyone's computer is configured differently, therefore: make sure credit-aid is not running, then navigate to drive C:\ and make sure there is no folder named C:\credit-aid_pro. If there is, delete it. Make sure you haven't moved your installation folder anywhere else. Some people try to copy of move program folders or client folders from one hard drive to another or drag them to their desktop. This will never work and damages the installation, so please delete that folder. The only file that matters for install is the one called "credit-aid_pro_setup.exe." You downloaded this on your day of purchase. It would also be on a CD if you purchased one. You cannot reinstall without this file.
Shut down and restart your computer. Make sure you're logged into Windows as an Administrator. Turn off or temporarily disable firewall and security and make sure you have a good internet connection.
Run the setup file "credit-aid_pro_setup.exe" and follow the onscreen prompts to install and activate the software. The activation key includes the dashes lke this XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. Always use copy and paste from your original download letter instead of trying to retype it. You must also enter the very same email address you purchased the software with.

If you're installing on the same computer as before and you have not made any hardware changes (i.e.: new hard drive, new operating system, new sound card, etc), there should be no issue and the software should activate just fine, however., here's an explanation of common error messages and what they mean:

Error messages:

Wrong activation code/Incorrect activation code: This is exactly what it means. You're retyping the activation code incorrectly. Please use copy/paste form your original download letter. In some cases, this error message can also mean you've copied or moved the software from where it was first installed. See steps above about installing clean. Software cant be moved or copied. This is similar to taking the engine out of a car.

If you see any error message related to internet connection, not connected, firewall, etc: this means something on your compuetr, router, firewall or wifi connection is preventing the software from communicating with our server. There is no way to bypass this 1-step. So please correct the issue on your end. Disable firewall or security software and plug in directly to your router. Routers can also have a firewall. Some people have faulty wi-fi. If it's a laptop, you might also try moving it to another location like a friend's house or a Starbucks. We understand that a connection or security issue can be frustrating, but we're not able to help with those. They are entirely on your end and the reasons for them are endless.

If you see an activation error message that says "This software is already installed on another computer:" this means that the software believes this is a new computer and not the same computer it was installed on before. A new hard drive or other software can cause this. Don't be alarmed. Write us a friendly support ticket (***from the same email you purchased with***), include the error message plus the activation key so we can reset it. Say "My name is _______ , can you please reset my key, it's ___________." Then we will be able to see who you are and we can reset the key, but please understand that we will not resend a download, and you must be writing from the exact same email address you purchased with (no exceptions). If you do not have the original setup file you will not be able to reinstall. We cannot resend old discontinued software that you purchased years ago in the past. If you no longer have the product you received years ago, we urge you to upgrade to Credit Repair Cloud. It's light years beyond your old Pro Software

Additional issues

If anything goes wrong during or after install or if you're having error messages, data wont save. Software keeps asking you to reactivate, etc. Ask yourself: Have I just done a clean install from the original Credit-Aid Pro setup file? Or have I tried to copy, move or use old program and client files from a previous installation or previous hard drive backup. Please understand, you can only install with the setup file. You cannot use an old installation from the past. The only useful files are your setup file "credit-aid_pro_setup.exe" (necessary to reinstall clean) and your dated client data zip (that you would have exported from a working version of Credit-Aid Pro. Anything else you may have in a fiolder called Credit-Aid Pro is garbage that is not useful to you. Credit-Aid Pro needs a clean install. Any other experimenting with old files and folders will only cause strange things to happen. Please follow the instructions for a clean install. If you do not have your original setup file "credit-aid_pro_setup.exe" you cannot reinstall. There is no workaround for this. This is the same for all software.

If you no longer have your setup file, we recommend that you try Credit Repair Cloud. Credit Repair Cloud has nothing to download and no software to install. it will never go out of date. You can access it from any computer device; PC, Mac, Linux, iPad, Android, tablet, smartphone, etc. It will import credit reports in seconds. It's a far superior product.

VERSION NUMBERS: You can always see what version of Credit-Aid PRO you are running if you run the software and click "ABOUT". The newest version is Version 9. If your version is older than version 9, we did send upgrade offers every year for as long as we were making Credit-Aid Pro. Upgrades to new versions were never free, but we always gave special discount offers for return customers from the past.

A: That all depends upon your credit situation and everyone's is different. Most credit reports contain errors. Errors are easiest to remove. Q: Do you make any guarantees that my score will be raised any certain amount?

Q: Do free credit reports or credit scores come included with your software?

A: Credit reports and credit scores do not come with our software but we do provide you the ability to order them easily with a mouse clicks from within our software.You're entitled to free credit reports once a year. Credit scores however, usually must be purchased. We do provide links for easy to access credit scores, but please understand that we have no affiliation with the credit bureaus. Any transaction you make with a bureau or a credit report service is between you and them. We simply provide the link to their site or to print a letter. Our software is for automating the dispute letter process. That's what we do and we do it extremely well. We are not in the credit report business.

Q: Can you give me advice about my own credit?

A: We are not allowed to give advice about specific credit issues, however we offer plenty of information in our software and in our credit repair blog. Q: What is the difference between basic pro and turn-key packages?

A: We no longer sell Basic Pro. All of our pro packages are identical. The only different is number of available client slots. The "turn-key" solutions have everything you need to start a credit repair business, including client contracts, power of attorney and many other necessary documents and additional letters.

Q: What additional materials come with the larger Corporate Pro (turn-key) credit repair business versions?

A: Our Corporate Pro (turn-key) solutions handle far more clients at a much lower cost-per-client. They include paperwork required to start a credit repair business (i.e., power of attorney authorization, consumer credit file rights, client contract agreement, plus additional credit repair letters and more). These packages are a much better value and will pay for itself with the first few clients. After that it is all profit.

Q: I want to use this for clients. Can I just buy the cheaper home version and copy the letters?

A: Our "home-user" version is not useful to professionals. "Home-user" versions only 3 members. You cannot add more names, you cannot delete them. You also cannot copy or reuse the letters (copying and pasting will not work). There is no way to track your clients. You will have no product updates, professional materials or support. "Home-user" versions are only for home-users.

Q: What is the difference between your home-user and your professional software?

A: Our home-use software is limited and only suitable for a home user. The professional versions can handle multiple clients. Q: What makes your software better than others?

Q: What happens when I fill up the available client folders/slots? Can I delete clients? Will I have to buy a whole new version?

A: When you have used up all of your available client slots you will need to buy a new version. Clients cannot be deleted. However you will have two options, a repeat customer discount -- or you can buy a 2X special, which gives you a 2nd copy (at the time of the original purchase) for 80% off. Q: Can I buy a smaller version and upgrade later?

A: When We dont have upgrades, because one product does not replace another...however when it's full you could buy another, and we always give discounts to repeat customers. If you are starting a credit-repair-business you will need a turnkey product. It has everything you need and it will more than pay for itself with the first few clients.

Q: Can this software be run over a network?

A: No, this is end-user software to install and run on only one (1) PC. It is not networkable. All of your important sensitive client data is safely encrypted on your own computer and not saved on a server where it can be accessed by anyone else. Q: Can I install on more than one computer (multiple computers)?

A: No, our software is sold as a single license and can only be installed on one computer hard drive. Q: Will this software allow me to do the disputes online?

A: No, and it often works against you if you to dispute on line. You have greater success if by paper mail. It's more time-consuming for bureaus to process and if they do not reply within the allotted 30 days (according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act) by must remove the disputed item from your report.

Q: Will this software work on a Mac?

A: Credit-Aid is written for Windows 8, 7, XP and Vista. If you have a Mac and are running Windows XP or Vista, then you should be able to run it. However, we do not support Macs. Please download the free trial demo to see if that will run on your Mac.

Q: Do you have software in Spanish?

Q: Why don't my credit reports have "scores"?

A: Most Credit Reports ordered by consumers do NOT have credit "Scores." -- especially those ordered for FREE from the Annual Service, The scores are generally sold at a premium. Here is our recommended source if you are seeking actual credit "scores"

Q: My credit report does not contain Spouse information. Should it? Should I include Spouse information when requesting or disputing a report?

A: (Copied from EXPERIAN.COM) "The credit reporting agencies maintain individual credit files for each U.S. resident. They do not maintain combined files for spouses. Therefore, your credit report is separate and different from your spouse's. Joint credit accounts you have with your spouse will appear on both credit reports."

Q: When I start to install Credit-Aid software, I am getting a message window that says "Unknown Publisher." What does that mean and what should I do?

A: We are not affiliated with Microsoft in any way, therefore we will always be an "Unknown Publisher." This is just part of WIndows security letting you know that our software has not been verified by Microsoft. When you seen "Unknown Publisher" simply continue the install process.

Q: Help! I can't download my Credit Reports from the Credit Bureau web site!

A: We don’t have upgrades, because one product does not replace another...however when it's full you could buy another, and we always give discounts to repeat customers. If you are starting a credit-repair-business you will be much happier and more productive with a turnkey product, plus the larger versions cost less per-client We understand that the credit bureau websites can sometimes be "unfriendly." We have no affiliation to the credit bureaus. Our software does provide an easy link to connect you directly to their websites where you can order reports, but once you are in their websites we cannot control how they respond to you.

The main function of our software is to generate the letters needed for disputing items in your reports, submitting them “in writing” to the bureaus, keeping track of your progress, and keeping it all organized. Viewing your credit reports on the credit bureaus web sites is completely dependent upon your own computer’s settings and your ability to provide the information that they request.

We recommend using our software to create the report requests “in writing” so that you can create a paper trial. It takes the bureaus longer to items submitted in writing, which can often work in your favor. Q: I am a Mortgage Broker and I want to be able to help my clients with their credit. Do I need a special license for this?

A: If the dispute letters come from your clients, are signed by your clients, and if you are not charging them for this service, then your clients are repairing their own credit. You would simply be helping them to repair their own credit by using our software to generate the letters, track their progress and keep them organized. Another option is to have your clients sign a Power of Attorney letter to allow you to do this work on their behalf. The Power of Attorney letter is included in our larger professional versions. Please consult with an attorney in your specific state to confirm this.

As far as charging your clients for this service, we believe that if you go the extra mile for your clients, you will receive back more rewards (by way of closed loans, goodwill and word of mouth) than any small fee you might charge for printing and sending a few letters.

Q: I have paid for Credit Doctor and received my Activation Code from you, but when I try to enter my activation code into the program, it just says DEMO DEMO and I can't enter in the code.

A: If it says DEMO DEMO, that is NOT the Credit-Aid Full Version program. What you have is only the free Demo, and you must completely uninstall the demo prior to installing and running the full-version.

Q: I am trying to install by typing in the name and activation code you sent me, but I keep getting an error message that says "Invalid User String." What do I do?

A:"Invalid User String" means you are entering an incorrect name and code. This usually occurs when trying to "retype" the name and code we sent. Please try to "copy and paste" the name and code (instead of retyping) and you should have success. FYI: To cut and paste: Use Control + C to COPY and Control + V (Or Right Mouse Click + Paste) to PASTE it into the Activation window.

Q: I bought a copy of Credit-Aid, but my computer crashed. How can I get a new copy?

A: No problem! Q: I am trying to download this program, but I keep getting corrupt or NCIS error messages when trying to install it. What is wrong?

A :"corrupt" or "NCIS" error you are getting means that you are not downloading the entire program. The install file is 13.2 Megabytes. It will not install unless you download the entire file.

2/27/2008 We are now sending all downloads in the form of ZIP files. We now do this because Norton and other Antivirus products prevent downloads of exe setup files. If you have downloaded the entire zip file, it will open if you choose OPEN or RUN and inside the ZIP file is the Credit-Aid setup file. Doubleclick on the Credit-Aid setup file and in a few seconds the installer will start. Make sure you follow the defaults and DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THE LOCATION WHERE CREDIT-AID WANTS TO INSTALL!

If you are double clicking on the file you have downloaded and nothing happens, or you get an error message that Windows doesn't know what to do with it, you probably haven't downloaded the entire file.

We test the links daily and they generally take 2 Minutes to download on standard DSL or Broadband, but occasionally your antivirus or internet settings on your computer may be preventing you from completing the download. If you are getting error when trying to download and install the software, here are the steps to take to correct this problem:

Delete the partial file you have downloaded

Delete ALL temporary internet files (Control Panel – Internet Settings)

Completely SHUT DOWN and RESTART your computer

Download the file again and remember to save it to your desktop. Make sure you have the full 13.2 megabytes.
